Hahaha thanks guys, I could not tell you guys how many people compliment him on his looks (wish they said the same about me  ) The main reason I question it is 1) He does not shed. GWP's are supposed to shed and WPG's dont at least to my understanding. 2) Every thing I have read says that G...

Please ID this Puppy

Hey Y'all, I was hopping you guys could help me ID my puppy. I got him at 7 weeks, and now that he is 5 months old. I am starting to question his breeding. Both parents are supposedly registered AKC German Wirehaired Pointer and the litter was also registered GWP. He has LOTS of hair (particularly a...

I would not worry about it to much, I have noticed some people get snipity when others ask question pertaining to labs. Well Im looking for a vest for my lab, and I have always used the "mesh" nylon one for hunting in the desert to protect them from all the sharp, pricaly stuff(cactuse, pricaly bushe's) and Im wondering if the neoprene would give any more or less protection, and/or wold it cause them to overheat quick...

Re: Training through the heat?

Well I look at it like this, if you would not hunt when its that hot out, then dont train them when its that hot. If you your self would only hunt when its 90 degrees out then dont train when its 115 out. If you hunt in 90 degree weather and its 100 out go for it. Just bring lots of water and pay at...

Sounds like some one needs to kick the owners in the butt a few time's. I have never heard of a crack being called "cosmetic". Re: What do you do about the flies??

Out here in AZ the best way I know of battling flies is this. 1. diatomaceous earth, it is a fine powder, but at the same time it is very course. If you get it in your eyes its like pouring ground up glass in your eyes. What is does is it cuts the exoskeliton of the flie larva and then they basicaly...

What most people dont understond about hualing a trailer is not just pulling and stoping, tequnickly a jeep has enough power to pull the horse trailer, and many mid-size trucks can stop it. But, it the matter of weight of truck to weight of trailer. If the trailer is dramaticaly heavier than the tow...

I hate over weight dog, it means the owners are lazy. My lab is 3 1/2 and she is about 80pounds, but I got her about 4 months ago(from my uncle) and she was 90-95 then. The "silver lab" is a cross of a wimer and a lab, just like the "golden lab" is a cross between a lab and a golden retriver. Just be carefull with mixes, in my experience they are ether incredible smart, or just plane dumb, but thats just my experience. (more good than bad)
