try a carded Pigeon then you can just toss the bird out and not have to put it to sleep or plant it you just toss it out. after a while the pigeons are so spooky they fly soon as the dog gets close at least mine do.

If you feel you need the help to do gun or bird intro do it. I'd recommend getting her bird and gun intro done then take her hunting this fall and if you feel you need more help seek a pro again in the spring. there is nothing better for a young pointing dog than getting out and hunting she'll learn...

I like to Pinch there lips/checks against their teeth and say no loud most cases it works in the first few times. in more stubborn cases i shove my fingers down their throat and say no. Like Ezzy said sometimes a correction should hurt a little.

Place boards, barrels or whoa posts are just extra junk to carry around and waste training time keep following the PS/PF method or get a hold of any of Dave walkers DVD's or the Training with Mo book. you can worry about style later when your working the dog on or around birds.

I have never seen a birddog who needed the life history of a bird before it would point it; That is absolutely silly to say a dog is better if it can find a wild bird. I got a 2 groups of older birds from Ezzy this summer at different times and a group of young birds just a little while ago and have only lost 2 from the older birds they were all sitting on nests or feeding young except for the 2 I lost they were a pair that left.
