Re: What do you think of Benelli shotguns?

The Nova I don't like at all. It's a clunker, real heavy, pump shotgun. When I was involved in quail and duck conservation club banquets, we raffled and/or used a lot of them, so I got to see them up close. I don't know remember if they were less expensive than 870s or not, but there is no question ...

Re: What do you think of Benelli shotguns?

I got a 20 gauge Montefelte that I really like, except for the "Benelli Click". That's when I bump the receiver, or do something so that the bolt doesn't slam shut, or it get's pulled back a little, it won't fire, it goes click instead!!! lol. It recoils a lot, because it's so lightweight and has en...

Thanks, I found another post where you said the same thing. I want to use American Airlines and the large kennel I have now is the largest one they will accept. Yes, if the cargo people figure dog's head needs to be upright, then I will need at least another size bigger. Yes, shear idiosity!!!

Shipping Adult GSP on a plane in cargo?

My GSP is 2 years old and is 24 inches at shoulders and weighs about 55 lbs. I got a large 36" length by 25" width by 27" tall Petmate kennel, which seems very big and roomy for my dog. However, the Airlines talk about the top of the dog's head not touching the top of the kennel? If that means my do...

Kennel in Salt Lake City area

We're visiting my in laws in south of Salt Lake City, for about 10 days or 2 weeks after Christmas. It sounds like the Hun hunting is good in Southern Idaho. I'm thinking of hunting Huns 2 or 3 days once or twice during this trip. My in laws live in a "planned community" with a small unfenced yard. ...

Actually I've enjoyed hunting chukar in the wind. They hunker down in little valleys and places out of the wind, making them easier to find. A friend from Nevada taught me that.

Yes, it does sound like a good day that might be better with less wind. The rain is supposed to stop at 10:00, which is fine. What concerns me is if the rain gets pushed out and it rains all day. I'm driving about 500 miles and have other weekends I can go. I'm also getting over a cold and still hav...

People have fought that problem forever. There is no way to beat it without a blocker on the fence row. Some put portable radios on the fence row and hunt toward the radio, hoping the radio stops the bird. Some use stick men to simulate a blocker. Some dogs, in time, learn to circle in front of the...

Yes, visability, that is why I got mine. I used them for teaching my dogs blind retrieves. Re: Why the big bumpers?

They are more visable laying on the ground, provide some variety (different shape) from the smaller ones for a dog to pick up and carry. There are probably other reasons, but I have forgotten. I got some myself I used to train my dogs a few years ago.
