Re: Small strap vests
I use the wingworks and really like it. For a smaller guy it might seem a little heavy so I would look at the Quillomene, either one of their styles are light weight with all of the amenities and are very well built.

JWP58, those saddles are called Trooper Saddles, they are a lightweight and comfortable saddle that doesnt have all the extra stuff you don't need.

Re: My first AZ Quail Hunt
There were birds around the stock tanks, but the cover around most of the tanks was too tall to get shots.I found birds in most locations I hunted, the issue is hunting in locations the birds will hold and still allow you a shot. The areas I had points and shots were near grass but the birds held in a...

Re: Garmin DC 30 Problem
I fixed the problem! I took it apart one more time, broke a wire, tried to solder it back and now it doesnt turn on. So the nice lady at Garmin gave me a return number and is sending me a new one for the low price of $89.00, I think thats as good of a deal as i can get now that I fixed it.

Re: Light 20 gauge loads for my boy? Help please
I started my daughter on the winchester low recoil/low noise loads, they are acceptable for close to mid range shooting and really do make a difference in the recoil. Make sure you adjust the LOP correctly, it will make a big diffference in your son progressing with proper form.

Garmin DC 30 Problem
Does anyone know what it means when the red light on the DC-30 will not flash, it stays a solid red? I can turn the collar on and off but it will not recognize it on the reciever when it is in the solid red mode. I have tried to reset the collar by removing the battery and reconnecting it but no cha...

My first AZ Quail Hunt
I got to spend a couple days hunting for Scalies and Gambels over Christmas break in Arizona this year. Once I figured out that you have to hunt completely different corver than what I'm used to in the northern states I was able to locate the birds pretty consistantly. This is cover i did not find b...

Re: Death in the pigeon coup!
The cameras got alot of pictures of the neighbors dogs, some cats and a snoopy old lady, but not the offending party. I have decided it had to have been a mink or weasel but no proof. Nothing has returned and I quit setting the live traps because I got sick of releasing cats alive, counterproductive...

Re: Recommended hunting vest
Really like my WingWorks, and like JakeDD said the bottle pockets loosen up after a little use. Ive had mine for two seasons and have no complaints. I tend to carry alot of necessary items (extra crap) and really like the way the weight is distributed.

Re: Death in the pigeon coup!
All the dead birds were inside. I have a elevated flight pen outside with half inch wire on top and bottem and chicken wire on the sides. What i dont understand is how it got out whatever it is. I should have had my return door shut but hindsight is 20/20. Well see what story the camera tells.

Death in the pigeon coup!
Yesterday my pigeon coup was plundered. The only way in the coup is through the one-way entry door that I should have closed, but i have a few birds that like to return late, must be teenagers. Whatever got in killed all 16 quail and 9 of 40 pigeons. Ther only thing eaten was all of the birds heads ...

Re: Chasing Birds
He's not "steady to flush" if he going after the birds on the flush. How long is he pointing? Long enough to be considered "steady to point"? I would want to remember that he is 8 months old. Is he collar conditioned? He is steady until I flush the bird, which I am ok with. My question is am i goin...

Chasing Birds

At what point should i try to reign him in on the chasing after the flush? he has slowed down on the tweetys but when a hen pheasant or miss occures he is pretty determined...

Re: Franchi 48 al
I have one in the youth model (20 gauge) that my son started with and now my daughter is shooting. If you pull out one of the spring spacers it will even cycle the Winchester low recoil loads. Just remember to put it back in if you step back up to the heavy loads. Has been a great gun so far.
