Car Sick Pup Remedies
My setter is currently 6 months old. Whenever she is riding in the truck, in her crate, she drools. And I do not mean just a few snot knockers here or there, I mean she drools to the point of making her crate WET! This morning I took her for a short ride - couple miles or so. Ran some errands and st...

Do it as naturally as possible...on a sunny day. Put the sun to YOUR back so it is hitting the dog in the face, and the side you are taking the pict from. Keep your shadow out of the picture. Get on the ground so you are shooting UP at the dog. I like the pictures of dogs without collars on them. Ma...

First let me say I am NOT a breeder. I personally do not like a sickle tail. I just saw a litter at 4 weeks and the tails looked very nice, held high and SHORT. My setter has a long tail and at 6 months I can see a little "curve" in the last 3-4 inches. To your question...do I think setter breeders ...

I have to agree with whitedogone on http://www.loupasqua.com/ The setter print he had on the cover of PDJ a month or so ago "Perfect Pair" was outstanding. I have 2 pups out of Ruger from Cadens Kennel and I really like them BUT I would not consider these pups closer to med range. If he's want closer to med range then I would look more along the line of some NAVHDA or AKC gundog breedings. There is a lot of good bloodlines and breeder of those bloodli...

Time to Point rather than Chase
Background...6 month GSP introduced to guns and has pointed and chased (30/70) birds. Next step is that we would like to have the pup stop chasing and get her to stop on scent contact. How would YOU do it. Go back to yard work and get whoa down? Pop pigeons so she figures out she can't catch them & ...

I believe Doc is getting back into the dogs a bit more. The Shooting Starr lines have been carried on for years though many kennels and good breeders. If you have a "Shooting Starr's XYZ Dog" up front of your pedigree, it should be a solid dog. In any breed...grouse are tough birds to handle...not s...
