My vet told me the biggest concern with the oral meds is the risk of seizures. That’s the bad news, the good news is they’re generally avoidable. The seizures are caused by an overdose. is your pups issue generalized or just a localized case, meaning just a spot or 2? not uncommon for a pup to show a mild localized case of demodex after some type of immune sytem challenging event like vaccination, a new home, or some other stressor.

Ask your vet about a product called Azodyl, too. It helps reduce the BUN, creatinine, and Phosphorus levels in the blood so the kidneys dont have to work as hard.

I think the seresto collars work great. we tell our clients to keep it snug enough that you can just slide 1 finger under it. My personal dogs don't seem to mind it at all. I made the comment to my dad that the seresto collar he had on his farm dog must be working, I didn't see a single tick or flea...

were the worms dead? Maybe she just now passed the dead worms. Also, tapeworms will require re-treatment 3 weeks later because the praziquantel only kills a certain stage of the tapeworms.

average water requirements would be 1 oz per pound of body weight per day. If hes drinking more more than 120% of that in a days time, consistently (assuming hes not exercising a lot or its hot), I would get him checked out. that being said, sometimes puppies just like to drink water...

nothing that does it all, but products like Trifexis and Adantage-Multi will prevent fleas, heartworms, and most intestinal parasites. For my clients that need to worry about ticks I usually recommend Interceptor (for heartworms and intestinal worms) along with Nexgard (for fleas and ticks). Seresto...

Dry discolored coat along with sloppy stools make me think of whipworms. You can't see them in the stools, so take a fecal sample to your vet for an exam. would be worst case scenario, but almost sounds like EPI to me. Young dog for it in my experience, but you might mention it to your vet. That's assuming your 100% sure hes not wormy.
