If the dog knows where the handler is at all times, why is it important that the handler knows where the dog is at all times? Which one is doing the hunting?
If I can't find the dog, what good does it do me if its on point? There is a happy medium.

My dogs work in the 50-300 yd range depending on cove. I prefer to judge dogs on how often they are in front of birds rather than how big they run. IME... yardage doesn't guarantee game.

I went to Dr Tims 30/20 formulation about a year ago...feeding less and energy, coats and overall health have been excellent. My 75lb male now gets 3 1/2 cups/day in the off season and does well. I'm impressed.

In my experience, you need to be careful with "after the fact" accounts. The only reliable information is that which folks are ready to swear to...and often that gets thin after the heat of the moment. Must say....sounds like tempers and fisticuffs are more of a danger in your competitive venues.......

It is the parent club of any breed that petitions for registry. It is the parent club that decides upon a breed standard. Too little data... There are some DD that are from lines that are bred to hunt close....under the gun....in many parts of Germany there are too many roads.
