How exactly do you go about doing the breeding to two different sires? I can't picture it being as easy as taking your female to stud A then a few days later taking her to stud B. Maybe it is that simple?

Dual Sired Litters?
I saw an ad about a litter that was purposely sired by two different studs? I guess AKC allows it as well. I'd like some info. on this if anybody has some. Thought it was kinda different to hear. Any risks involved, etc.???
Thanks for any info. in advance...

Oh, no I wouldn't worry they are very eager retrievers even into freezing coastal water. They just have a tendency to play keep away so avoid those situations. I would say let them play keep aways as pups... that's their prize at that age and let them do whatever they please with it as youngsters. ...

I agree with what was said earlier, the Black GSP being allowed in the Show Ring will only open more doors to make the breed worse. This may be going to far, but I wouldn't care if all Shorthairs got banned from the ring. The show ring doesn't do anything for ME.... but that's just me. Congrats to t...

Thanks for all the help and info.
At this point, I will leave her alone. She is one of the best pups I've had and I would hate to screw something up on her. I'll think things over long and hard before I pull the trigger on anything.
Thanks again.

Re: Tail Docking
My dog just had his tailed docked at about 2.5 years old. He was fine, right after we took the stitches out he split it open so it took longer to heal. I would say watch her like a hawk and do not let that happen, a tail will bleed a lot. As far as side effects, my dog is just getting back on birds...

Yes, I have talked with the vet. The price will be ok, as we know the doctors real well and always get a bit of a discount, plus I help them out every once and awhile so we can work something out. The GSP is a complex breed. Different lines produce different things. Some of the differences being dramatically noticable. I'd make a list of all the qualities you want in a dog, what your goals are, etc. and find a breeder that will meet your expectations. The advice given earlier, to buy any well...

You'd give away an 8 week old pup because it bites and ruff houses with another pup? Pups fight. I wouldn't let it get to out of hand by saying he has issues and problems, give it away, etc. Just keep an eye out and give some more time to evaluate the pup. Now, if he shows serious aggression towards...

Hunt Tests, Swimming, Camping, Free Running, Four Wheeling, etc.
In the summer time, you can also do some training, but you have to wake up at 4 am and be done by 8 am, and work them in the water every 20 minutes Bottom line, get the dog out and have fun. That will do it.

If it was me, and I had to buy the dog based on the pedigree, I'd pass. If you want a Field trial dog, buy one out of a kennel that has had success with field trials. Also, as far as trialing goes, you want a quick bird dog that has the ability to cover ground. The dogs right out of Germany in my ex...
