Thanks all. That spray method sounds like a winner. I tried something similar last night where when he barked, I took a cup of water and splashed him...lemon juice or vinegar seems like it would be more effective. I'll let you know how it goes.

He only wears it when he is outside by himself. If I am home, it is off. At night, when he comes in, I take it off as well. I found that if it isn't at the tightness that it is at now, it doesn't work effectively. He knows when he is not wearing the collar that he can back, which is really annoying....

If dogs utilize nutrients anything like humans do, carbs and fats will be used first and proteins will not be used as fuel until about 2 hours after the onset of exercise. This is because the blood and muscle stores of fat and carb will be depleted and the body needs something else to use.
