I wouldn't. If that were the case, why don't people eat more coyotes?

Tri-Tronics G3 Press Release

Somebody was looking for info on the G3 a few days back. Here's the text of a press release that came out today: Tri-Tronics Announces Major Innovations for Hunters and Professional Dog Trainers Tucson, Arizona - Tri-Tronics, the industry standard in electronic dog training equipment, is pleased to ...

I grew up and still live around a lot of farmers and ranchers, and most are outstanding people. However, I know some who shoot tule elk indiscriminately and others who believe that anadramous fishes should receive no consideration in water allocations. As a group, they're not always my first choice ...

QC, Where does your theory that they "strike so often" in the wild come from? That's a helluva lot wilder than the adult venom-control thing (which is science-based). A single rodent that's as big around as they are will last them a couple of weeks before they start to feel hunger pangs again, so th...

Whoa question

I've been whoa-training my English setter with just a check cord (half-hitch tied around the rear end). We tried the post a couple of times, and she was so miserable that I don't have the heart to put her back on it. We're progressing fairly well and she's now stopping at a considerable distance whi...

It's great that your dog will be OK. A rattler – especially an adult – will often deliver a dry bite when it feels threatened. It's not easy for them to produce venom, and somehow they learn that it should be saved for food acquisition, if at all possible. That's why the babies are more dangerous – ...

Sorry, I didn't mean a collar with a hawk scream setting, but an actual wooden mouth call that you blow into to produce the sound. Supposedly, a wild rooster won't budge if he hears it and believes it's real – he knows that if he shows himself by flushing or running, the hawk will be all over him. I...

Hawk call

I ordered a screaming hawk call from an Internet site, and it arrived today. Seems like it's pretty easy to use. I listened to a recording of an actual red-tail scream on another site, and it doesn't seem too difficult to duplicate. I bought the call primarily to use on wild ringnecks in Montana thi...

HRC,

My Lab hunts quail just fine – he just does it in the same harg-charging style with which he hunts everything else. He might not be ideally suited for the task, but he has a lot of fun, and so do I.

I don't know how many pointing-Lab people there are around here and I don't want to offend anybody, but I just thought I'd share an experience from yesterday. I met a pro trainer out at my hunt club in the morning for some whoa work with Mazie, my English setter, that didn't involve a post. Mazie do...
