yeah but how much does shipping a pup from say Kansas to south Texas cost?? that may knock down my number of choices depending on the cost. I can't justify spending more than $800-900 on a pup or young started dog (a pipe dream i know).

Field Trial and/or HRC
i'm looking for some field trial and/or hunting retriever clubs in or around south/central texas area. any help from you guys would be great. It's been a while and it'd be nice to be able to meet up with some folks to help out a guy starting over from scratch again.

I've been using the 20 & 30 for a couple seasons now- 828 yards on point is the farthest I've had- but I've succeeded in not having that any more- I think got one that pretty much stays inside 200 yards- one that pretty much stays outside 200 yards- and two pups that are having a hard time deciding...

Diamond has terrible inconsistancies between bags or lots i guess you would say. i have a lot of friends that do. but i just haven't gotten started myself. i know down here you can do it on the cheap, but i don't have the extra freezer space just yet. my wife wants a new upright so i may have a freezer open up soon for dog food
