Question about training at Kelly Farms
I am planning on purchasing a pass to train at Kelly Farms soon and was wondering if they allow the use of ATV's during training? I have been there during NAVHDA tests and know they use an atv for bird running but am not sure if they allow it for training. Also, if anyone is in the St. Croix chapter...

I am also a fan of the deer and elk antlers, look online and you can find places where they are not as expensive as pet stores.

Re: What holds Newb's back from Trialing?
Until September of 2010 I had never hunted any wild birds other than Turkey, never had a dog before December of 2009, and never even had a dog of any type when I was a kid at home, so I consider myself quite a newb to the whole world of dogs, pointing dogs, hunting, testing or trialing. I am quite a...

Re: The runs....(update)
Had Cutlass tested for worms, nothing came up. Spoiled him with some hamburger and rice for dinner one night to help settle things out and then backed down his feeding amount from then on. He is having a lot better stools now so I think he was getting just a little too much food, hopefully he keeps ...

Slistoe I totally agree with ya there, that's the main reason I left brand names out and what not. I dug around a little, got info and took it all with a grain of salt. I was feeding pro plan puppy and switched to Nutrisource because I get more food for the same price and I can find it locally very ...

I was kind of thinking it might be a little rich for him, I can't remember the exact ratio for his food, it's somewhere in the 32/21 range. Maybe back him down to one of the 30/20 foods, would you think that little bit could make a difference? Also, what would you consider an easy to digest food? Ju...

Re: The runs....
I guess one thing I was wondering is if dogs will take a while to adjust sometimes. Like I said, he doesn't get it too often, but definitely more than when he was on puppy food. Are there other things that may cause random diarhea, when he gets it is is usually very short lived, like one bad poop in...

So i got the dog switched over to his adult food now, we transitioned him really slow into the new stuff and he would get diarhea sometimes while we were switching over, but not much and it would usually settle after a few days. When he was on his puppy food I can hardly remember a time when he had ...

I am planning to head back to North Dakota in October for pheasant season and some more small game hunting. Just curious if anyone uses Nutrisource Super Performance for their dog. I am about to that time where I am going to be transitioning my dog off of his puppy food and to an adult formula. Just looking for some input as to what brand of vest you guys like to use when hunting with the dogs. I would like something that has a couple water bottle spots but other than that just the usual pockets and compartments that are useful for being out with the dog. Thanks for any input.

I am happy with my ruff tough kennel. It is a little more expensive than your standard plastic kennels but seems a lot more rigid and durable. Re: Difficulty trapping pigeons, any tricks?
I agree with munster on the netting strategy. I don't know where you are trying to catch them, but where i catch them they tend to fly out of the roosting area in the same general direction, so I spook them out and the fun begins. I just use a cheap fishing net and throw rocks towards them while shi...

To anyone who has had luck trapping/catching pigeons...
I work at a powerplant that has an abundance of pigeons hanging around, so last night placed a standard pigeon trap and a single animal "havahart" brand trap we have here for when squirrels get into the plant.
