Re: 2 year old GSP barks when running in woods
It's been my experience that once they start barking while running it's pretty hard to break.Had a GSP that would give tongue when chasing fur.Couldn't fault the dog as some where back there that was a desired trait when tested and hunted. You might try a bark collar as that way when your not right t...

Re: Puppy ate a dove, what should I do about?
One thing about it,they like birds.keep a check cord on the 4 month old .Lots of play retrieveing out and back.Repitition and have fun.No more than 3or4 retrieves put pup up.makes his desire a little stronger instead of burning them out. When the pup is old enough force fetch them or have it done.it ...

If truth be told I don't think any dog likes real cold water. There drive and desire is what pushes them out there time and time again.-Shawn

You could always work her on her tracking if you intend to run the pup in the vjp.As long as you don't use to much pressure you can work on whoa training.-Shawn

Re: Force fetch ear pinch...
If your not getting the desired result with the dog opening up.Rub your thumb and finger against the ear on each side causing friction,it's uncomfortable to them. Also the more you do it the more sensitive the ear will become making it easier to move forward with your training.Because i don't know yo...

Re: puppy price
I was looking at DD's.Couldn't find anything under 800 dollars, then you add shipping 288 dollars.i'm not a wealthy person and that seems like an awful lot of money. You look in the paper and these individuals who think they have something special and really it's mediocre at best and they are asking 5...

Re: big running dog.... any ideas
if he's running big at 5 months wait until he is 1yr old.I say let him run and find birds.he will learn to hold his birds and it's less walking for you. However if you are inclined to keep him in,I would agree with the other folks plant birds close and after awhile he will get the idea.Sounds like yo...
