Re: English Pointer with little to no interest in Pigeons
I have an English Pointer that also did not like to point pigeons at all when he was young but was crazy for quail. Your dog sounds very similar to mine when he was younger. I would try what Maurice mentions above first as it will be quicker and easier to try than my method but I will also tell you ...

Bee's First Bird Hunt
With the quail preserve season coming to an end in the next couple of days, I loaded up my dogs this afternoon and took them to my favorite preserve to guide at. The birds there are released (not planted) and are very strong fliers. My pup, Snip's Queen Bee really wanted to go so I took her along mo...

All, let's make this post a little more interesting. Let's see who can guess Chance's bloodline(s). This should be interesting. I'll give it a day or so and then I'll come back with the answer. Me personally, I find myself studying pedigrees, bloodlines and their specific characteristics on a regula...

Cajun, thanks for the post. My normal training grounds are on a different part of the farm. They consist of fields of grass (beoom straw mostly) and wooded areas with undergrowth. In talking about Top Gun, my avatar is a Top Gun Female. She was as natural as they come. We just recently finished her MH title and I had several judges come back to me and compliment her ability.

Video of Chance
All, I originally planned on videoing my 2 year old EP, Chance, and placing it in the For Sale section. However, I had such difficulty with trying to video by myself until I decided to only place for all to see. The quality of the video is worse than any I have seen. I couldn't make it in Hollywood ...

Re: IT'S BEEN A GOOD WEEKEND
Everyone, thanks for all of the replys to my post. My good fortune lasted through this past weekend. Diamond earned her 6th MH leg and earned her MH title on Saturday morning. In my opinion, she ran her most impressive brace yet. She was slinging dirt with every turn but obeyed the rules and my whis...

HOW TO ENCOURAGE MORE RANGE
Hello all, just last night I sent a PM to a good friend on here on range but it later hit me that this forum training section is the perfect place to ask this.
How do you field trailers encourage young ~ 8 month old started pups to run harder and range out more?
Thanks

Snip's Queen Bee
I took my Bee puppy (Dolly x Maverick) on a walk at daylight this morning. I planted a few pigeons throughout to make it a little more interesting. I believe she is developing nicely.
I have high hopes for this little girl .

IT'S BEEN A GOOD WEEKEND
I'm not going to call this a brag but just a really good weekend. I started out winning the big prize (a whopping $15 gift card to Wendy's) at a "game night" we have at church ever so often. Then, I got a call Friday night from Tom Tracy saying my young Brittany female made runner up in the Prarie S...

Re: Differences between the Elhew and Miller Eniglish Pointers?
I am also curious to hear everyone's opinion and experiences with the two different lines. I currently have an 18 month old male that that is 75% Elhew and the other 25% is mostly Miller. This dog seems intellegent, has an excellent attitude, loves to retrieve (land or water), and shows a good nose ...

Who ever said Pointers didn't like to retrieve ?
This pup will retrieve a softball back to you until your arm is tired.

I thought I would comment on my experience with TopGun also. Everything you read here is true about TopGun. I have a female, Diamond, that will be one year old in May. She was from their Ace X Ally litter. When I called Steve to tell him how she was doing, he could have told me! He definately knows ...
