Thank you so far.
Tell me more about the bells and whistles of the Collars. Do I "need" them. Or at least really nice to have. I'm on the east coast and I don't think my dog will be ranging too far.

Sorry for the novice question. What is the ecollar used for? Is it for when the dog is out of range and cant hear you? Or just enforcing commands?
Ive seen a lot of options out there. Which one do I need? And which one do I want?
Thanks

What are you talking about????? I'm asking about buying pet insurance to protect myself from costly vet bills. Broken bones, torn acl, cancer, thorn in the eye etc.

Pet Insurance
Who has it? What do you guys think about it?
I also saw some of the pet stores doing shots and checkups for free or low cost. Should I do that or stay with my vet?

The puppy is doing great. He is potty trained already. He will sit, come, and give you his paw as long as there aren't any distractions. Just have to work on his biting now. Here is a current picture. Love this guy.

Thank you. Yep, for the kids.
Trying to get things together. Trying to " puppy proof" the house without raising suspicion.

One more week for my new buddy
It has been a long time coming but I am finally bringing my 8 week old male Liver/white Brittany home next Saturday. I can't sleep. I can't tell anyone since it is a surprise for the kids. I'm going nuts.

Re: New Dog
I'm confused!! What is everyone else doing with their dogs during the day? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one working. Since there were a couple of comments that it wasn't a good situation for the dog I started to look at other breeds. It seems that every hunting breed is labeled as "destructivene...

Re: New Dog
Would I be better crating with access to an outside kennel? Or just crate during the day? My retired Mom lives close by and she could possibly come over at noon to let the dog out. Pup will get plenty of exercise in the morning and evening. That is not an issue. I hunt grouse and stocked phez. This ...

New Dog
Finally! The kids and I are close to getting our dog. Wife has been against it but she is slowly giving in. Her big argument has been that no one is home during the day. What is my argument aginst that? My plan was to crate the dog during the day with access to the yard from the crate. Also, I was t...

Re: Field trial
Ironically I don't have a dog right now. Wife wanted a cat and I wanted a dog. So we compromised and got a cat. LOL The kids and I are trying to get the wife convinced. She doesn't want the dog home alone all day while we are at work. So if any has any advice for me then I'm all ears. I had a Spring...

Re: Field trial
It went great. My wife and oldest bailed on me but my little one went and she loved it. We met two great people, Karen and John. They let my daughter pet thier horse and their dog, which was the highlight for my daughter. I learned a lot. I couldn't see any of the dogs working. That was a bummer. Th...

Field trial
There is a Field Trial this weekend in Medford NJ. I have never been to one before. I was thinking of taking my kids over and checking it out. Is it worth it? Is this a spectator sport? Will be able to see anything going on?

Let me rephrase that. It is not a club per se but a camp owned by a few guys. We are just west of Galeton on route 6.

Potter county PA, Grouse Hunting
I check this forum alot. Currently, I don't own a dog. I don't post much because I'm still learning. I belong to a club in Potter county PA. I seen some interest on the board about hunting up there. Let me know if you want to go up and I'll see if our schedules meet up. The last few years up there h...

Bought several things from them. I was a little hesitant at first. You know the advice " if it looks too good to be true then it's not". But the things I ordered were in perfect condition and at a great price. You can sign up to get their daily email for the day.

This would just be for the daytime. He would stay inside with the family during the night and when we are home. How would a 3 month old be outside during the day ? What should I type into the search function to see other setups ?

Dog days
Hi everyone. My first post here but I have been reading for awhile.
I'm ready for a dog but need advice. My wife and I work during the day. I also have two young kids. I'm looking for suggestions and ideas on how and where I should keep the dog during the day ?
