I think your time, and degree have alot to do with it. My cousin has a bachelors and I think she started in the low 20,000s four of five years ago. I know another lady who has a masters and 10 years experience, she is over $60,000.

I look at pros a little different than I do amateurs. They get paid to WIN trials, not shoot wild birds. I have found in my 25 years of quail/pheasant hunting that the dogs I hunt behind (everything from pointers, brittneys, labs, chessies, wirehairs, etc) find more birds than I can shoot!!! :D :D

I didnt read the article today but I read it a couple years ago. If I remember right they were studying bird movement. They said that in alot of cases when a dog has an unproductive there were birds there they just moved. I also think depending on the weather the birds dont flush. I remember 3 years...

Thanks 3britts and Cherrystone. You are the first two people I have ever heard it happening to first hand. IMO I like dew claws removed, not only to prevent a possible injury, but mainly I think that dogs without them look better.

Not sure I understand you question. He is a little vague and doesnt go though the complete process. He may not show everything but he does talk about making the dog pick it up; then throwing the dummy 2 feet, then 3 feet, then 5 feet and so on.
