Re: Training ( not hunting)
I didn't mention, he also has this bad habit of when you or someone is eating he just barks and barks, thinking you will give in. That coonhound bark, my god, is loud. Keep saying "NO" but he doesn't listen. Have put him in his crate and he barks from in there. We "really" have our hands full with t...

Re: Training ( not hunting)
Thanks, we were sceptical about a coonhoud int he house at first anyway, but he was abused from what we could tell whoever had him before so we felt sorry for him. I post a pic when I get home tonight after work. Its like having a toddler around again. LOL

Hi, we are the ones that posted awhile back about our rescued dog Buddy, didn't know what he was but ya'll said red tick coonhound. Some thought his legs were infected with the way his markings are. Anyway, he is enjoying his new home but he is a little terror. Gets into "everything" pulls down klee...

Re: Type of Beagle
We are just wondering how big is he gonna get. Some say he has part coonhound, I've heard some say (at the vet) part Lab, we really don't know. The vet just put down beagle mix. He is so loving. It is hard to believe someone didn't even want him. Just a shame such people are out there.

Re: Type of Beagle
he is just fine. He has "No" infected skin. It is his fur coloring. Also he is getting along just fine. He thinks he owns the place now. He sleeps up on the couch with our other dog. They play together alot. I took him to the vet the other day because he has worms and she said he still has all his b...

A friend just got a female and put it in with 3 males. If she isn't spayed isn't that going to cause problems if she goes in heat?

Hey, someone dropped off this pup in my son's cage and he just didn't fit in so we brought him home. He is great. I think he was abused whomever did it becaue he is very skiddish so far. He is getting use to us plus our house Beagle. We can't figure out what kind he might be. I will try to ad a pic....

Re: Hello, anyone
Thank You, I'm just a worrysome Mom. I love animals especially dogs. We also have a beagle as a house pet. This hunting dogs experience is new to me and I'm freaky out over some of the condition you see. I wish we didn't live in a neighbor and we could bring them here, I would feel better that at a ...

Hello, anyone
I need to know if very low temperatures are harmfully for beagles. We have a wind chill of 10 right now. I think that if horrible for any animal to be in but my family member says they are used to it. They are only about 9 month old beagles and a 4 year old. I am worried sick about them. They have s...

Cold Weather Shelter
Just wondering when you keep the dogs outside with straw in their houses are they really warm? Beagle don't have much meat on their bones in the first place. I feel so sorry for them. Temps around 20-25 and wind chill 8-10.

Dry or Canned for Hunting Dogs
Just wondering if your dogs are eating dry food and you wanted to add a few days a week some (1/2 can) canned for the cold winter month in the off season can you? I figured a little canned wouldn't hurt to put a little more meat on their bones during J,F,M. Also if you feed them once a day how much ...
