Thanks everyone. Any idea how much I can expect to pay for its removal? I want to make sure sure I am not getting ripped off.

Lump on GSP Chest/Leg Area
Noticed a small marble sized lump on my 5 year old GSP last week. It is on the left side of his chest near where the shoulder/chest and neck meet. It is hard and movable. It has not changed size in a week. I am going to bring him to the vet but was curious if anyone has seen this. Thanks.

Re: Rattlesnake Vaccine lump
Went to the vet. They took blood from the lump and determined that it was infected. The gave me antibiotics for 2 weeks and told me if it doesn't go down to bring him back so he can go under the knife. They then proceeded to ask if i wanted the rattlesnake booster.....I am thinking of searching for ...

Rattlesnake Vaccine lump
My gsp received his first rattlesnake vaccine about a three weeks ago. We noticed a small lump on the injection site about a week ago that has grown into a golf ball lump today. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow. Anyone have this happen to them?

Hello All, I have a 12 month old German Shorthair male who we are considering getting neutered in the next few weeks before the start of hunting season. I know there are many debates out there about whether or not to do it but my wife and I have decided to get the procedure for him regardless. My on...

Re: Ticks and Lyme disease
I would go to your vet and check. Im not sure how they would detect lyme disease, but make sure you get a lyme disease vaccine!
Also try using Frontline Plus, my 7 month old GSP came home with ticks 3 straight days last month. I applyed the frontline and I have not found or pulled off any since.

No. I have a German Shorthaired Pointer now. My wife wants a dog. She really wants a King Charles Spaniel but like the Pointing Griffon as well. I would rather her get the pointing Griffon, but either one would be just fine, I already have my dog.

Well the mahority of his clientele are working dog owners. ( Dobermans, pit bulls, rottis). They actually have treadmills in the back of the shop that they run the dogs on. All of the dogs I saw were in excellent shape and although werent running 30 miles a week, were definetly getting more than an ...

Re: Puppy Food- Do they really need it?
That is just what he said. A wolf eats pure protein, but pure protein is only about 22%. Not the 27-30 percent we are feeding our dogs.

Puppy Food- Do they really need it?
Hello all, I recently visited a shop that makes their own dry dog food here in NY. The shop has hundreds of clients that swear by the food and many owners have had dogs that have lived for many years over their expectancy. The owner asked me what I have been feeding my 7 month old GSP (Purina Pro Pl...

Keep doing it over and over again until he associates the whistle with come. I had my puppy tear after a quail last week and run righ...

Re: Too early for JH Test?
I just wanted to thank everyone for all the helpful posts. He ran in his first JH test over the weekend and scored all 8's. Not bad for a 6 month old puppy. He was able to find and point 3 birds in the 15 minute time. Cant wait for his next leg in a few weeks.

Hello, My wife and I are avid travellers. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with any airlines and travelling with dogs. I have spoken to several airlines (in an attempt to make a trip to Florida) and apparently they only allow you to bring a dog that fits in a crate under your seat. I hav...
