Re: DC 40 Failures!!!
Does the DC 40 not have a charge indicator on the astro 220 unit on the information screen, the DC 30 does to show the carge of the collar, and occasionally I have to wiggle the charger a little to get the blue light to come on but then it carges fine so far. and the DC 30 stays blue while charging ...
East wind
Since I am kinda new at hunting behind a dog, I would like to know some opinions on hunting on an East wind. I have been told by longtime dog hunters and read on one of the fourms that an East wind is not good, I can understand if the fish don't bite but where can quail, pheasnts, and grouse go on an...

I am also planning a trip in Sept for sharptails in SD, for those that have hunted Ft. pierre grasslands and the lower Brule res. which one do you consider best. I have been on the lower Brule and saw grouse but they were very wild and this was in Dec. I am trying to make up my mind as to which one ...

I would like someone that has gone through thier dog getting into a skunk and what works to get the smell off, I have heard tomato juice or vinegar, this would be a real problem I would think if you are traveling and staying in a motel with your dog.
Thanks Jimmy

Re: dog bottle
actually I am using what I am told is a water bottle for a hampster cage with a float ball of some kind to keep it from just pouring out, you have to squeez it a little to get enough for the dog but he doesn't have a problem with it and the spout is metal and he can't chew it up or destroy it, it ha...

Re: collar ID
Birddogz, I am probably going to get and Astro and since you mentioned it how far is the range in hilly or steep terrain, I
also think it might help locating your dog's point in thick cover where you can't see him at all, is this true.
Thanks Jimmy

Has anyone heard of a collar that you can put a temporary note or information in while hunting away from home just in case the impossible happens and you lose your dog. A changeable info tag with your cell phone and motel or where you can be reached and how long you will be there etc.or any other in...

Hello, if I may impose on you'll again I would like to know what kind of a dog water bottle works best and where to find them.
Also, besides water what do you use to keep your dog from getting dehydrated in hot weather in the field, thanks very much.

first hunt with year old GSP
I would like some of you'lls experienced opinions on taking a year old pup on its first hunt for wild pheasants. I have been told that a wounded wild rooster can spur or oterwise hurt the pup and make him where he will be a muncher so as to never have that happen even on quail, or possibly not even ...

Re: help on pup and wild quail
Thanks Birddogger I am fortunate enough to have access to this place it is around 500 acres and has had no livestock on parts for 10 years and the other parts for about 3 years and hasn't been hunted, but I still think the quail are getting wise to the game even no gun is involved. help with getting thorns out of pups feet
My pup is 3 and a half months old and when I need to pull thorns out of his feet he doesn't
much like it and will try to get away or lightly nip at your hand, how do you'll get the dog
conditioned to allowing this.
Thanks

Re: Stevens 512 Gold Wing
I bought one in 20 ga. and after about 100 or so rounds it got to where it would not transfer from under to over (if you had it set to fire under first you had a single shot) the trigger would just pull but not fire. I took it back to the store and they gave me another one and after about another 10...
