I do most of my "hunting" on public and private land, But with the low numbers of wild birds locally I dont shoot many of the wild birds I encounter. Id say that 50% or more of the birds I shoot are on game preserves.

I dont think that it is fair that the breeder pay the total cost of the puppy and all related expenses that you have listed, this is a fickled game we play with no real guarantees. Yeah it probly wasnt the best thing to do with a young pup, but it wore him out, and the look on my wife and father inlaws face was priceless as the watched him "herd" the goats while their australian shepherds sat in the shade and watched.

Yeah, I teach middle school, so i have plenty of time through the summer to start breaking my pup. Thanks guys, this isnt technically my first rodeo as I have spent some time working with retrievers. Yup my GSP will cover alot of ground on a sight chase, but Ive been lighting him up and he is figuring it out. Between a crazy deer population and stupid deer hunters, Its just a good idea to stop it before it gets bad.

In the 50's and 60's my grandfather used to drive a truck load of pigeons from Bostom to Sanduski OH, and turn them loose for a pigeon club a few times a year. Im not sure how far that is but they homed.
