Re: 1st GSP - questions
You don't need a month of training with a pro. Schedule a visit with one recommended by others and work with him to solve your issues so you know how to correct problems. You need to steady this dog to wing, shot and fall and you need him broke so he won't move once pointed even if the bird moves. Y...

I purchased an L4S Sporting in June of 2017, very nice shotgun. Well built and cycles everything I put through it.I am looking at a Fabarms L4S in 12 gauge. Anyone shoot one of these? They are at the top of my price range along with a Browning and Benelli. Any preference?

I hunt all my GSP's (dogs) no matter what color with orange half vests for visibility reasons. Orange is easy to see!!!
I had a liver and white, liver roan and now a black roan. I don't shop for color, I just adopt older (2+) dogs that need homes.

The A400 is a better gun, have the thinnest recoil pad that Kick Eez makes installed and remove wood if necessary. Very few guns will fit you out of the box. I just sanded down the comb on an A400 Parralel target. Will it affect resale, probably but who cares I intend to use it and you can't shoot w...

Price is good but sounds high. When the gun club I attend was selling it a couple of years ago it was $20 for a 1 gallon plastic jug. Don't know what that equates to in pounds though.$28 bucks a bag beats the heck out of 38-45 bucks a bag.

Check with local trap clubs. When they have the trap and skeet fields mined they usually offer used shot for sale, at least around here they do. I don't reload but have friends that do and they have used reclaimed shot. You will never know the difference.

Not teaching the dog to sit is great advice if you only use the dog for hunting and it is a kennel dog. I like to do other things with my dogs, pet therapy, obedience, dock jumping etc, and some of those disciplines require the dog to sit as part of the training or certification testing. My first GS...
