Re: Training with tethered pigeons
I'll try it this weekend but something tells me its going to be hard to get my dog to just forget about the downed bird. I am betting he is going to be pulling the heck out of me to get to the spot he saw it go down.

Training with tethered pigeons
Question on the process for training with a tethered pigeon: After you launch or flush the bird, the bird will fly away, and then land. The dog will hold point still (hopefully). What do you do in this situation? If you release the dog, he will go after the downed bird. I will have him on a cc but i...

Irish setters have been great for me. Had them for 2 years and hold up great. Mine are made of kangaroo leather and it seems a little softer so the briars sort of tear them up but they have seen a good many miles.

Good to know. This is the first dog I have not fed a "puppy" branded food and I wanted to make sure nothing bad was going on. He was definitely the alpha of his litter and much bigger than his litter mates so I am thinking he is going to be a hoss. I think he looks small to me bc I cant wait for him...

Average size of a GSP at 6 months?
I am thinking my GSP is a little on the small side. About how much should a GSP weigh at 6 months? Not overly concerned just curious... He is on Diamond EA and has been for about 2 months but I am wondering if I need to feed him puppy food to stimulate more growth?

Vets rob you blind where I live. Kills me when I dump several hundreds into something I could have easily taken care of myself. Half the time the vet doesnt even get it right and you end up going back for something they missed and it costs you even more. I am done with vets unless the dog needs surg...

No the ProPlan is fine, but I would like both my dogs to eat the same food. Is it ok for puppies? The bag only has suggestions for adult dogs. The puppy is around 5 months old. He was on ProPlan Performance before. Should I just stick with the 4 cup/day amount from the ProPlan?

Throwing up for dogs is a much more natural process than for humans. Make sure he is drinking. More then likely he will get over it quickly. Giver it a day or three before panicking. A lot of times a vet will charge a lot and not be very helpful in situations like that. Recently my dog didnt eat for...

Smell em. If they stink bad, might be infected. You can clean em out with a qtip.
If hes got long floppy ears you can get ear wash or mineral oil to put in his ears if he is going to get wet. Moisture that sits in their ears will increase their chance of getting infected.

All you said was corn is a good food source. What makes it a better or worse food source than any other ingredient? The GI for corn is high, but that doesnt necessarily equate to energy.
