Re: Suggestions on English Pointer breeders
Try Wild Apple Kennels for pointers. The owner does coverdog and is in the Northeast. I don't know him ,but I read his posts on other forums, and he writes (or wrote) for a pointing dog publication. No one can tell you whether pointers or setters will fill your needs better, because it's all about ...

Wanting to get another pup within the next year. Want a setter or pointer this go around. I think I'm pretty clear on the direction I'm going if it's a setter but not really sure where to even start looking as far as pointers. I don't do trialing. We'll hunt grouse and woodcock 90+% of the time, alt...

Not a whole lot you can do that is safe. I definitely would not try to stop it. There might be something that is safe. But I have not seen it. Hunt her alone and watch her close. If she just started you should be pretty safe for a week or so and again about threeweeks from the start........Cj Yeah ...

I've found when shooting, whether it be clays or birds, the more instinctive I shoot the better I am. It also is a lot about confidence in whatever gun you're shouldering. I'm already into my swing when I shoulder my gun and pull the trigger as soon as I get on the target. It's what works for me.

I really enjoy the show. I've got a friend that was a cameraman for Mossy Oak for a couple of years. If anybody remembers those shows were all perfect. Appreciate the responses everyone, I'll keep looking. Picking up 50 quail biddies on Friday and they'll be going in my new flight pen in a couple of weeks. Here’s the status: I’m currently feeding Science Diet Active Dog and Diamond HH, 50%-50% and there is no gum-rubbing but both dogs are still a bit pink around the eyes (surrounding tissue). He's been checked out as thoroughly as I can afford at this point. A specialist looked at the x rays and saw no sign of anything either. He's hasn't shown any signs of a limp in the past week or so, even after overnight in his crate, so I'm getting more hopeful.

Was there swelling with your pup? That was the real oddity with this. No warmth in the knee area, no swelling, no fluid on the knee.
