I put some quail sent on the dummy the other night, and it made all the difference. The first night there must not have been very much scent on it at all.

Tonight i was throwing the bumper for my brittany and he had trouble finding it in the dark even when he ran over it. The bumper has been sitting outside for a while so there might not have been any sent on it. He usually does good on singles after the covey rise but sometimes i wonder about his nose

Last year during dove season my Brittany would point the dead dove before retreiving it. That was before he pointed wild quail and since then he started pointing. Do i need to tweek my training a little before dove season or will he know now to just pick the dove up?
