Re: Looking to get my first hunting dog

There is a reason Pointing Lab is a thing and Retrieving GSP is not. And, good dogs are not cheap. Expect $500 for a decent Lab because of EIC and other health testing.

The teeth cleaning ingredient some food manufacturers add is hxametaphosphate. Honestly, the only food I've seen have an impact on gunky teeth is Hill's t/d.

We sell it. The advantage over other prescription kidney diets is that NF is also an early stage cardio diet. Does it work? I've had good feedback. You cannot mix it, though, or you may as well not use it at all. The actual food is Purina CNM NF and they sometimes have coupons or rebate offers throu...

We just took a 20% price hike on the Naturals. :( Sounds like your gouging a little seeing how the price hike was around 5% or less. I would look for another distributor. Who do you buy from? Statewide. Fuel surcharge went up, too. We took the whole hit on Naturals and left the regular line alone.

OMG, just get some triple wormer and do them all. It won't hurt to double up on the pyrantel for a month. Active ingredient you are looking for is praziquantal (sp). You can also use Tapeworm Tabs, but a big dog needs 170 mg, so it's pricey.

Since that's not any kind of certified pedigree, you don't know what titles might be in there. You can run some of the names through NSTRA and see if they placed there. Otherwise, you'll need an official AKC pedigree to tell much on titles.

That's up to the owner based on the pedigree and their goals. CHIC has it pretty well covered. I think cardio is highly overlooked in non-CHIC dogs.
