Hello Steve,
I give you a lot of credit for hearing what many here said, and stepping back and taking responsibility for your partner.
It takes a big man to do that. I wish you well with her. I think you'll both be just fine.

Re: Dog gone blank
The point several posters made about fences is important.
here in PA, there are deer fences around areas of newly planted seedlings. They're essentially invisible to a hard running dog. There have been cases of injuries, including a broken neck. Be cautious!

Re: Grifon won't hunt after a shot
You have gotten a lot of good advice here, and good insights. Your dog has a problem with the gun. I don't understand the trainer....he should be picking up on this. Dogs learn both good and bad by association, so it your and the trainer's job to figure it out. Don't blame the dog. I have a friend w...

Re: When to introduce pheasant?
My concern would be a young dog have a bad encounter. It's one thing for a mature and bold dog to have a bad encounter, but the younger ones, especially if they're not really bold and confident, could be an issue. Only you know how the pup is doing with the birds you've introduced. only you know how...

Are Chuckers OK for Training?
Hello everyone, I don't have access to pigeons or quail for training, but I can pick up chuckers as I need them. Are chuckers ok for starting a dog on birds? Any pros or cons you can share, and any suggestions? I haven't been abls so far to find any information on the pros and cons. Most folks seem ...

Re: Ear Infections
Hello, I know I'm late to this thread, but I'm new and just saw it. My Brit had a bad ear infection a while ago, and the vet gave me an Rx product that worked, but cost me dearly. I can't remember the name but could look it up if interested. He got another ear infection after a lot of swimming. I wa...

Re: Is it me or the dog?_ADDITIONAL QUESTION
Hi everyone, I've been reading this thread for all the thoughtful advice everyone has posted. Please tell me if by asking a question here I'm out of line (I'm new to the Forum). All of this advice is given for a young dog. I have a 3 year old rescue Brit, and I've never had a pointing dog, only Spri...

Anyone Own & Hunt Flusher and Pointer ?
I'm wondering if anyone here owns both a flushing dog AND a pointing dog?
If so, do you ever hunt them together?
If you do, how in the heck do you??
Thanks for any replies.

Damaged Shotshells - Advice Please
Hello everyone, I had quite a few boxes of shotshell stored in a closed off area of the basement. We had a terrifically heavy rain that damaged the gutters, and water dampened the basement walls. When I went in to get some shells for trap, I found all of the boxes badly molded, so I removed all of t...

Re: Tell me about your best dog.
OK, since you asked, you've given me another chance to honor my passed best friend. Kipling Was Right (as posted by Arctic Gundog Website) by Tom Connelly OutDrs111@aol.com May 19, 2001 I had to send off my best friend yesterday, rather suddenly, and my heart is breaking. She was only nine, but she ...

Hello From S.E. PA
Hello everyone, I'm new to the group, and appreciate this opportunity to participate. I'm in Bucks County, PA, just north of Phila. I've always hunted with Springers, but after I lost my last one to cancer much too young, I took in a Brittany. It's been a bit of a challange making the transition, so...
