Re: To Old?
Yes she has a hunting back ground, father came from windswept in Missouri if I’m not mistaken.
Both parents were bird dogs, but the breeder was more of a duck hunter so they did more retrieving.
she is good on her here command but I need to reinforce it

To Old?
At what age is it to late to train your dog? I have an almost 2 year old female that I got as a pup with the intentions of training her. Life got busy and I am at a place now where I have more time. Before I start working up to get her in the field, is it to late to make a good bird dog out of her?

Bird Loft and Cats??
Just curious if anyone has had or has issues with cats trying to get birds from your loft? I have an issue with a few cats in my area that seem to frequent my yard and wanted to make sure before I made a loft that they are secure from those threats.

The male I that we had, had a similar issue. We would feed and feed him and couldnt keep weight on him. Switched to Annamet performance and he did good. That became to difficult to get in my area at a resonable cost so we went to Diamond EA.... he did good on that as well.

@Vonz, thats crazy. Is there any way to tell if thats happened? would a vet be able to tell? I would hate for her to come in and me not know it, then some how she ends up with an ooops litter.

Can you find any place in the area that sells Annamaet? It was a good food that the dogs did well on. My male was a hard keeper and it put weight on him like no other food, the availability in my area forced me to switch. I went to Diamond EA and do not regret it one bit. Had to switch feeds for my dog as the Annamet was becoming a slight hassle and non cost efficient. Decided to switch to diamond extreme athlete as it seemed to be similar to the Annamet. All is great advice. I agree with the kennel, the one I found to work best was the wire ones with the divider. I had him on PPP and didnt seem to take well to it. On the Euk, his stool is less and solid. Evo is to much for what he eats. I have been getting the Euk at a good rate (last 40lb bag for $29.99). I thought about trying raw, but I have not read enough on it.

Deworming is always the answer from the client but 95% of the time it is truly not due to worms. I can't tell you how many times dogs have been dewormed 6 times or more before the person tries to just go with more calories or just a better food and, viola, the dog starts to put weight on. A teenage...
