I'm curious to know what you mean by "exercise-related soft poops"? My dog poops about 10 or 15 minutes into hunting seemingly every time we go out. And from what I've noticed, it tends to be a little softer than normal. Is this indicative of something with his food?

My plan is that if he points something, I will hand the CC to my partner whose dog will back, walk up, flush and shoot the bird . First of all, that is one talented GSP your partner has there. Have you shot over this dog? I've seen a GSP who was gun shy but still absolutely loved to hunt. He would either chomp the bird before it could fly, or he would catch wind of a bird and decide to turn the other direction. Both as a means to avoid hearing the gun go off. I have a 10 month old Brit that did this for one training session last month. He would flash point and then head on in. I began to think it was because I WASN'T shooting the birds so he figured if I'm not going to bag them for us then he'd better just try it on his own. The no shooting thing IS a go...
