sounds like a display bug - have you tried updating to the latest firmware to see if this cures the issue?

I have that same collar/beeper. One tip is that the beeper can be pretty loud, loud enough to spook a dog that isn't used to the noise.

I stuck a piece of duct tape over the beeper and that reduced the volume to just about the right level.

I slept in the spare bedroom with the crate on the end of the bed. After the 3rd night I put the crate on the floor in the bedroom. Seemed to work OK for me.
