Seabiscuit was a media darling for a short while but was, alas, a gelding.

Re: Full tail or Docked... please educate me

50 broken tails? i have been around bird dog, cow dogs and mutts my whole life and have never personally seen a broken tail. i have seen some bloody tips and limber tail but i think the reason certain breeds are docked is because "thats the way we have always done it " . the perceived saftey aspect ...

i agree with Neil on this, things are never perfect on wild birds and you take what you can get especially with a young dog. stay quite, get in gun range and take what you get. a good dog will start figuring out your in this together. i have never bought into the whole "retrieve is the reward" bit, ...

JKP, i dont get it? you dont trial, yet you make comments on every trial thread, usually thinnly veiled insults. if you are that obsessed with it, get some dogs that can do it and give it a try. I have no interest in VDD dogs so i dont read the threads or comment on them. why the obsession?

I cant remember ever seeing a wirehair in the american field? i am sure there have been some on a weekend trials but i doubt it there is any that have won going the hour. the wirehair is a good breed but lets not build them into something they are not... even if there was one that won a all breed AK...

with construction contracts are a must have. people forget things both the contractor and client, their must be a scope of work to protect both parties. With dogs & livestock well, they die. if a breeder wont replace or refund find a new breeder. education is not free

i have read in the american field of wild bird trials where the dogs are getting finds on pheasant and sharpies and huns (montana and idaho) or pheasant, huns, quail and chukar (robinson ranch). so anytime you want to give it a shot i am sure they would be more than happy to have you.
