My GSP did this when she was younger too. I just kept taking it out of her mouth and now she doesn't do it anymore. I also made her carry a dummy on our walks so she couldn't put the leash in her mouth. That worked too. In my case I think she did this because she didn't like having the cord attached...

How would you go about teaching a dog to run on the treadmill? I have a 1 year old GSP that I know will be nervous about the noise and movement of the treadmill when its on.
