E-Collar Question
I know Ive asked about e-collars before. I couldnt afford to get one cause I had to fix my truck and move and stuff but now I have the money in gift cards and can get a really good deal on it. Im looking at alot and one I was looking at was a DT System collar. Are they any good or should I hold off ...

Dog Gum Problems?
Lately Ive been noticing right behind dogs bottom canines it looks like there is some wearing on his gums. They arent bleeding all over but it looks like there is a little blood and redness. At first I thought it was from throwing a frisbee and him catching it so I stopped for a while and just threw...

Re: Invisible dog fence
Ive heard good things about them and considered getting one for my dog when we move. But my buddy from school had a dog (not hunting) and they had an e-fence. That dog learned if she could deal with a couple seconds of shock then she would be free. I think it would work for most dogs but not all of ...

Dogs and deer?
Deer season is just around the corner here in Georgia and I had an idea but not sure how good it is. I was thinking about maybe taking some bones from what deer I shoot and possibly some organs like the liver and whatever else and give them to him as treats. I just figured it would be nice for him a...

Scabs on ears?
Lately when I bring my dog in at night Ive noticed the hair on his ears are wet. I figured some other dogs had licked them or something. No big deal. Well tonight I looked closer while I was inspecting for ticks and I noticed on the outside of his ears where they are wet there are scabs. Its not lik...

Re: FLYS!!!!!
Theres no poop up where the flys are. Its kinda weird I notice most of the flys are under the porch in the shade where the dogs stay when it gets hot out. I know there are flys everywhere but they are mostly under the porch. The only thing that isnt dry is their water bowl. Ill look for the predator...

FLYS!!!!!
How do yall get rid of flys in the summer?! They are everywhere and every year they bite my dogs nose and it starts bleeding. Not poring blood but there are some blood spots. The older dogs had scars on their noses from all the biting. We put out traps which help some there are just so many though. ...

Re: How do you know when its time?
I think it may be time for her.... I was checking all our dogs for ticks today and she fell on the kitchen floor when I went to check her. I found some sores she licks on her legs. And I found a big sore that was all callused and hard on her elbow that my mom thought may be cancer or a tumor. She ha...

Re: Dog Punishment Help
Thanks for the info yall. I normally go through the ball with him for about an hour a few times a week in the back yard. We work on some commands while doing it. Ive also been bringing them in at night since winter (just figured they might like to stay inside where its always warm and dry) and after...

Re: Dog Punishment Help
You don't have to punish him, you have to train him. Thoroughly train him on obedience until he's flawless. Your problems will disappear. I guess this is more what I meant when I said punish. Get him to a point where he stops and obeys 100% of the time. Dont get me wrong he's a great dog and obeys ...

My dog isnt a hunting dog right now and he is just a little over a year old. We have another dog that is 15 and she is a little slow cause she is so old. Sometimes the younger dog will pick on her and she cant do anything. When I go out to get him to stop he stays out of reach of me cause he knows h...

Re: E-Collar Help
I have a question about the Dogtra collars. Some say low/medium and low/high for the output levels. Does the low/high do all the same levels of stimulation as the low/medium and more?

Re: Dog Chewing Help
He is a year and half old. I guess I can try to get him retrieving birds soon cause your right he may retrieve differently than a tennis ball. I just dont want to create a bad habit for him to play with whatever he retrieves in his mouth. He drops the ball sometimes cause he plays with it

He doesnt chew to destroy but kinda fondles it in his mouth I guess you could say (if that makes sense). How can I make him stop and just hold i...

E-Collar Help
I've never used an e-collar to train a dog but I think it would help with my dogs training. He is fairly well trained but I think an e-collar would help enforce stuff better and help him be trained better. Anyways I'm looking at 2 different brands of e-collars and wanted yalls opinions on them. I've...
