These dogs dont like being behind and will run hard to catch up when left in the dust. They dont like working that hard or atleast shouldnt and will soon learn to keep the front. Check out California and Arizona on the AKC site. Completely limited to what you can run in. I guess it goes back to having a Brittany win a Brittany event. but I read your post wrong...... Doug, do you have any experience with the new Astro, I believe its the 320 with the DC 40 collars. From what I've seen of the new model is its very quick at picking up the dog. Way more so than the original model. I still think the problem with them is that the collar and unit must talk to one anoth...

No where in the AKC rulebook does it say that all trials are walking and in some HB handling is permitted. Foot handlers are permitted in all stakes, but that doesn't make them walking stakes. Look on page 35 - it mentions horseback handling gun dog stakes specifically. Why so if they were all walk...

In AKC horseback handling is permitted. Originally all stakes were walking with horses coming in later. To this day horseback handling is permitted. That is the truth, there is no arguing!!

I believe all amatuer juvenile stakes are walking but Open juvenile stakes are not unless noted as walking.

You need to search the pointing breed field trials, when I look them up I never have to sort through beagle trials... If they say they are 3 days they are 3 days, some start on friday. When the premium comes out you can see what runs when! Where did you get the idea that puppy and derby were walking...

No clean dogs after two days of running. This is one of the best trials in the brittany world. Not many places in the world and not many trials ran ONLY on wild birds. There should be plenty of chickens this fall prob to many!!!!

Wyndancer, you are correct that marshal unit is huge. Even kinda big on the side of a saddle, but it is efficient and seems to be pretty fast as well. From what I've seen.

When talking telemetry its my understanding that the marshal unit is far superior to the tracker unit. The garmin is good but does have its holes in rough terrain.

Mine is 13 mths old and no fat anywhere but you still don't see his ribs and he was weighed today at the vets at 39 lbs. Not to be nit picky but there isn't any muscles over the ribs of a dog.... If you can't see there ribs they are covered with a layer of fat. Same goes for the hip bones.... Just ...
