Good video,i use my DD for ret,, Eiders and old squaw Ducks in the winter time like this,,i"m just waiting for the right winds to bring the pack ice from Labrador to NL, to push the birds a head of it :D

super pics Wyndancer , :D and thanks for the info you provided about the field trials and dogs .the bird cover and land are the same here in newfoundland where i hunt willow ptarmigan,,,i saw two on the wing in one of your pics......as to the tails on the dogs ,i like them the old way,,no 12 oclock ...

Llewellinsetter from reading your first post, you said you wanted to hunt waterfoul , and upland so with that factored in i think you should be looking more towards a versatile pointer with a good coat for the climate you get in michigan.

Azdoggin, another factor to this -calm in the house ,demon in the field ,that hasn't been mentioned is the age of the dog,theirs a big differance between a 1-2 year old and a 4-5 year old dogs off switch,,,time in most cases calms them down. ,,,so yes you can have both,,,but it may take some time.

If the conditioning and temp,, are good i hunt all day, so on average that"s 8-9 hours with one break to grab a snack .

Gitterdonebritts the 105 cti was a failure from the start,they tried to improve it and that attempt failed,if you get a used one and it's good, the problem i see down the road is finding parts for it. ..........lorne

Hi Dave,what you say about ptarmigan is correct the only difference i see between redgrouse\willowptarmigan is they change to white in winter, their call , size , shape and flight seem the same.we also have rock ptarmigan but the numbers aren't as big , or as wild. ..........i have seen willow ptarm...
