Yeah you right keep forgetting not everyone lives down here where everythings close quarters, so used to either hearin the rattler or smellin the mocasin and my dogs are usually close by not working hundreds of yards away in big wide open fields. But when there is a snake my dogs have all been prett...

Re: pigeons for training
I used 6x6" thought I posted that must have missed it will make sure to include that, and the best way I found is go ahead and prefab the bobs if you are going to use that style door by twisting them up,taking a permanent marker and marking them where they are equal and using some of the left over co...

Re: Another stupid question
Yes I know what causes the crack, the speed of sound is 1,126 fps. This is 768 mph, or approximately one mile in five seconds. Standard .22 lr fires at about 1250 fps or 852 mph unless you are using cci stinger which travel at 1700+fps or 1159 mph, and yes I clean my weapons after every use,not ever...

Re: Another stupid question
Thanks everyone I am confused about the field trials,we train dogs who point and retrieve and then in the field trials we shoot a blank at the bird, what's this gonna do to the dog if you hunt with him and he's used to retrieving birds now all of a sudden he does his job finds the bird for you to sho...

ok lemme rephrase this question a bit,I'm not spending a nickel on a starter pistol unless I have to and the only reason I would have to is if blanks would be detrimental to my perfectly functioning .22 revolver, does anyone know if there are any downsides to using blanks in a normal revolver,I was l...

Re: DIY Piegon Trap
I spent $.50 on 10 wire coat hangers which i cut up for the bob's,so $26.68 total cost and about 5 hours total of my time, was a bit time consuming making the bob door but I redid it 3 times until I was happy with the outcome, settled on 10 bobs for the 6" opening

Actually to stay true to my budget I was thinking one of two things for my doors, either some old bent aluminum arrow's cut down for bob's or spending the remainder of the budget and getting some 1/4" pvc and putting some lead fishing sinker's on the bottom will finish this today I do believe,thanks...

when the pup gets one right end on a good note and go back to play time and love, makes perfect sense. My #1 priority is for the pup to get accustomed to finding birds and want to do as little "sight pointing" and as much scent pointing as possible,Heck I don't care if the dog doesn't point at all,mo...

has been my experience watching other people train and friends train that bringing a pup out the field and blasting a shotgun by him is by no means the best way to gun break a pup, have seen many many dogs do nothing but high tail it to the truck and hear "well that "bleep" dog is useless it's gunshy...
