We have a hot and cold tap set up outside the back door on the deck to wash feet (kids and dogs) before coming in if they are muddy, we use it after the dogs have been at the beach and are covered in sand as well..dont need it in the winter with the snow BUT if we did need it we just hook the hose b...

Sounds like youve got a good plan to start, concentrate mainly on socializing the pup and exposing it to everything you can when it comes home, safely of course..be sure to go threw a check list of necessities and have them home and ready to go..crate/potty training is the first thing and getting th...

when on the road we stop every few hours for a pee break and stretch the legs so the dogs go when we stop, the night before i put the dogs water dishes into the freezer to make the water an ice block so when we drive it doesnt spill everywhere in the crates and the dogs can still drink by licking it...

NICE karen, we are looking into trading our RV for a truck and trailer so when we get to locations we can take the trailer off and drive the truck around, the RV costs a ton in gas :( and like you we thought about putting dog boxes into the trailer as well..looks like you will be traveling in comfor...

my female GSP did exactly what you explain besides the peeing in the crate but i think she didnt do that because i work from home so she wasnt in it much in the day therefore she was able to go out ALOT..she started all of a sudden wanting to go out at 2am every night which she had been sleeping all...

well, if it were me i would change some things to see if it helps, i would move the crate downstairs so you are closer to getting him out as soon as you get home, and he is closer to the door to go out as well, i would ask the roommate to be sure to let him out asap when he comes home as well before...

Well just an update first: Frio is doing well with the food transition. Stools are still healthy looking and his appetite is still growing. i feed 3 times a day until about 5 months then go to 2 times a day..we feed at 5am and 4pm usually depending on the schedule that day as ours varies but try to stick to the times the best we can, if the pup gets a 3rd feeding its around 11am..i usually give a large dog biscuit mid day to the dogs ea...

i know its 9 months away but time flies by especially once spring gets here and testing and training the dogs start, plus having 5 kids and our own business my husband and i have to plan for vacations very early... we are planning on attending the 2012 invitational and hopefully do some volunteering...

By your description of when he barks and the fact he is staring at your house when he barks says to me he is going threw "seperation anxiety" because he is associating you with hunting, eating, exercise and playtime so he wants to be with you as much as he can (you = fun)..the only option you really...

if you are going to get the pup alone use the crate for the saftey of you, the pup and the other drivers in the event of distractions and if someones coming with you then you can let them hold the pup or crate it whatever you chose to do..when we brought our pups home whether its from the airport or...

i agree its best to know all the facts and both sides as well as a photo to make a judgement but one thing the article states that caught my attention is the hunter who owns the dog ships the dog to different places to hunt , i cant see someone starving/ abusing a dog while spending hundreds of doll...

my advice would be not to let her have full run of the house where she can go out of sight until you know shes fully house trained..if you can block off an area such as the kitchen it allows you to keep any eye on ques she gives when she has to go out and if she does have an accident its not all ove...
