Hanwag alaska gt. Very similar to the meindls by cabelas but broke in faster therefore more comfortable right out of the gate. Now they are just plain more comfortable. Now that i know my size i believe i can order directly from Germany for a considerable discount even with the shipping.

As i recall they were a custom order but did not manufacture guns. They outsourced it to a manufacturer. so it could be high end or low end depending on what the customer wanted to pay. i will check books later to confirm my memory.

Have you owned other shotguns that fit. The LOP on that gun is pretty normal. 1.5" would be really short for most people but i dont know what size you are. 1/4" would make very little difference except maybe with different clothing. if you are thinking of a different gun because it is a little short...

some of this has been really funny. i could imagine that if a guy was getting ready for a trial and did not want to take the chance of anything coming undone on a hunt, such as the original posters dogs not being broke. then maybe it makes more sense.

For long guns you do not have to have a FFL ship the gun. You can do it yourself as long as it's being shipped to a FFL. You have the buyer's FFL send you a copy of his license and then ship it to him. Keep the copy for your records. For handguns it's another story. Those have to be shipped from FF...

i doubt if it will affect a hunting area. Even if given a county within a state, most people cant find their bedroom from the couch.
