cant say ive ever had that urge to shock myself with a collar... im an aviation electrician... i get shocked enough. only volunteered to get shocked once and that was with a taser for training purposes.

Sound Beginnings retriever training DVD by Jackie Mertens is always highly recommended, and not too expensive. A basic book is Tom Dokken's Retriever Training, it is easy to understand, affordable, and will get you started off on the right track. I've been around a litter of chessie's pretty recent...

is there a diference when it comes to training wether you use blanks or primers? is one any loader than the other and if so does the loudness effect the training at all?

thank you that does help a lot. i have started reading up on training my pup already and that seems to be what everything i have read is saying. teach him the basics like sitting and normal obediance and to establish yourself as the alpha male. thanks again for the help.

i am a proud NRA member and ccw holder from PA. ive been away from the state for a little bit now because of deployments and such but i am glad to see PA is supporting the right to bare arms. I hope to see other states getting onboard with this as well.

i am 24yrs old i am an aviation electrician in the navy. i am stationed at NAWC Point Mugu, Ca. finishing up my last deployment. i will have one Chesapeake Bay Retriever in a few short months. (waiting for him to be born). He will be my first hunting dog. i hunt for deer, bear, turkey, waterfowl, up...
