Re: What is on the horizon?....English Pointers
Thanks for all the input. I purchased a female from Rich out of this breeding. So, far we are very happy with her. Rich Heaton has a pup, 10-12 weeks old maybe??, for sale right now out of his last litter - talked to him yesterday and he has it up in Oregon with him (I think he's in Fossil/Condon ar...

English Pointer Tail
I have a ten week old English Pointer female and sometimes she has a nice straight tail and then other times she lets it hang there. In the past my other pointers tail's were straight early on. At what age should a pointers tail start to gain strength and stand straight all the time?
Thanks

What is on the horizon?....English Pointers
I've decided to purchase another English Pointer. I have been watching the normal places that post dogs for sale and there are a few litters, started, and finished dogs that I am looking at. I thought I should also ask you guys if you know of anything out there that is for sale that is a good purcha...

Re: Opinions on our kennel...
For the tops on the kennels I use cattle panels. 2 panels will cover 3 kennels and I havent had a dog escape Are dogs climbing out of kennels a real concern? I have always used a 6' tall kennel with my English Pointers and have never had a dog escape. Have I been fortunate to not have a dog escape ...

What would you choose.....Male or Female?
If the breeding of your dreams came up and you had the opportunity to pick one puppy for your breeding program, what would you pick male or female and why?

Re: anybody have some pointers for using whoa barrel
This is a great post. At what age do you usually start a pointer on a whoa barrel? Also, where is a good place to get plans to build a whoa barrel?
Thanks

Does anyone have any info on the Pike Creek or Southern Doctor Bloodlines? Also, is there any breeders out there using these bloodslines together or seperate?

Re: Ch. Branscum’s Nickel
So, I'm contemplating my future breeding program. I have always breed Elhew but as of late I feel that there needs to be more blood then just Elhew involved. What I'm thinking is starting with Black Magic and Nickel Bloodlines then adding in Elhew Blood. This is something that I have been thinking a...

Re: Ch. Branscum’s Nickel
So, if you were going to start a breeding program around Branscum's Nickel blood what other bloodlines would you complement it with?

What is your favorite upland game bird to hunt?
I think this is a fun question "What is your favorite upland game bird to hunt?". I know that this will vary greatly by what is available but none the less. It should be a fun poll.

Re: Ch. Branscum’s Nickel
I was also looking for a line of dog that was different from many of the traditional pointer blood lines. Branscum's Nickel is one of those types of dogs. Also, what other bloodlines do you like that differ from traditional pointer lines? And what would you consider traditional pointer lines? I wou...

Re: Raw Eggs
Thanks for the info. I have been thinking of getting some of my own chickens and I thought that feeding the excess eggs to my dogs would be a good use of the resource and good for my pointers. Though every once in awhile I will boil the eggs just to give the dogs something different.

Re: Ch. Branscum’s Nickel
Do you guys think that it is Branscum's Nickel as a sire that has influenced succesful dogs like Crow's Little Joe, Slat Creek Doc, Copper Nickel, Burchel's Dutchman, and any other dog that can trace his roots to Branscum's Nickel? Or a combination of good breeding?

Raw Eggs
What are your guy’s thoughts on feeding your gundogs raw eggs? I have a neighbor that gives us free eggs I have always feed them to my dogs. They seem to like them. Are there any benefits to this?
Thanks

Ch. Branscum’s Nickel
I have been looking into some bloodlines that are different from Elhew. Branscum's Nickel is one sire that I keep running into that I would like to learn more about. It appears that he has sired several wonderful dogs that have gone on to sire more wonderful dogs. Including Slate Creek Doc and Coppe...

Hey everyone, I've had an account here. But I wanted to change my screen name to match my kennel name. So, I opened a new account to do that. I live in Utah, I own a consulting company and have some convenience stores that I run. I own 3 English Pointers, 2 elhew bred males that are getting old in a...
