I appreciate that. I am not real concerned about the drive. I have the whole weekend with not a "bleep" thing to do, and I am not sitting in the hotel room the whole weekend. I agree. Never have used puppy food. Just used an all around food for all my dogs. Kona started on anamaet(spelling?) and is now on pro plan. She has been just fine. No need for puppy food.

I have three. One sleeps in a crate and the other two sleep on dog beds. Absolutely no dog sleeps with me. I have a wife that eats up most of the bed, and I will not share anymore room with a dog. They are dogs not kids, not a wife. They need to know there place.

I would make sure that when using birds that you flush well in front of the pup. You don't want to do any damage from a young pup getting hit in the face by a flushing bird. It will be a lot of work getting him back.

When I ran in my first derby, I was told to not over handle the pup and once she gets a point on bird, shut up and let her run. She will have done all she needs to do.
