Re: lewellin vs. english

thanks for all the replys. I guess people who are advertising llewellin setters are just staying as close as possible to the orignal llewellin lines. Whereas the others are all outcrosses that have developed their own type of english setter. Makes sense. I think im just going to get another dog fro...

Roading dogs - Time or distance

Just wondering if you guys/gals think it is best to road dogs for a predetermined distance at a certain speed on a quad - or a predetermined time at a certain speed on a quad?

Is there are rough estimate - what is the best time or distance to road dogs for trialling in 1/2 hr or 1 hr stakes?

What do you guys think is a good thing to carry in saddle bags - first aid kit, extra blanks and a extra blank gun? Anything else? What is the best way to attach them to a saddle (austrailian or trooper)?

Even at 3 months old - I try to get them to range with birds - when I go to SD it is very easy we have a 1 mile long tree line/shelter belt that is loaded with pheasants and sharp tails - it doesn't take the pups long to figure out that up ahead is where the fun stuff is. Once they find and start kn...
