8 month old pup, first hunt

After a long summer which included lots of training followed by Dutch getting hit by a car. The better part of Jul and Aug was spent with very strict kennel lockup, We were cleared to start getting her back out running and training around mid Aug, It took a few weeks of work until she was showing th...

Re: Moving to Montana Several Dogs Available

That may be true... But fishing, elk , deer, upland, and bear for 85 is pretty good out here... I think its cheap every year I look and see the out of state tags go up in price.

Re: Huns/Blue grouse???? Montana

Sounds like you had a good time, I like the pic! The grouse hunting right now is very good in the mountains. We went over by miles city last weekend for sharptails and it was very slow only shot three limits with 4 guys in two days so looks like those numbers are down. The crop dusting coyote shooti...

Re: Rattlesnake bites are on the rise

That's true, earlier this year a friends ESP got bit and vet said give it some tylenol and it recovered as well, but I wonder if the size of the snake and the amount of venom that is released would change any of the results??

Re: Rattlesnake bites are on the rise

The vaccine against rattlesnakes does work, Have some family that have heelers on the ranch and they decided to get them vaccinated this year. Two weeks ago one of the heelers got bit on the nose by a rattler. His face was very swollen but after a few days of rest he was right back to it. Although n...

Re: Huns/Blue grouse???? Montana

Right now you will find it to be in the high 30's and low 40's in the AM warming up to 70 or 80, you will have no problem finding the grouse even mid-day in the warm, often you will find them on the trails in the sun or walking in the road, shouldn't get to hot for hunting though. The Rattlers are m...

Re: Huns/Blue grouse???? Montana

Start in the higher country in the morning for blues and hunt the ridges down, Depending on the weather you should be able to find them on edge of trails and roads mid-day. If your having trouble finding grouse drive around those forest service roads until you see a few and walk from there. Huns see...

Re: Opinon: SD-400 or TT Sport Junior G3

Thanks for the prayers, Dutchess is pretty lucky she made it, Vet seems to think she is on the road to a full recovery. They say it will be close to a month before her lungs fully heal and who knows how long to heal all the muscles, she is still one really hurting pup, but we are grateful that she i...

Re: Opinon: SD-400 or TT Sport Junior G3

I will be hunting upland for pheasant, huns, mountain grouse, and plenty of duck hunting. Like I mentioned earlier my pup works pretty clos...

Opinon: SD-400 or TT Sport Junior G3

I am looking to buy a e-collar for use on my 6 month old lab pup, She works fairly close and I am not looking to spend a lot of money on a new collar as I am a beginner at this. Have had a few friends that have had good luck with the Sport Dog 400, But I would like to hear some opinons on the Tri Tr...
