Travelling with some dogs

Around December 10th I will traveling from Detroit to Tucson Arizona via Indianapolis. Will be traveling in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, towing a U-haul trailer, and two dogs in the back (2 year old Boston Terrier and a 5 month old Boykin Spaniel). I am pretty good at driving long distances and will be pu...

So I just ordered a new Springfield Armory XD-S to be picked up when I get done with this deployment (it is oh so close).

Anyone have one of these and shot it yet?

Plan on using it to replace my Glock 27 as my everyday CCW weapon.

Ok so my pup has been being training with the breeder with real birds on retrieving, etc. She is about 3 to 4 months old and is already retrieving them and bringing them back. I have more to learn than she does at this point! Anyway, I pick her up around December 10th when I get back into the states...

Ok so I know a lot of you transport your dogs in a dog box.

i was just going to have the dog ride with me up front in the cab of my truck. Is this not advised?

Why a dog box? Is it to keep your cab clean or is their more to it than that?

Thoughts?
