Re: How to cover Ruff Tough kennels when using coupler kit
I have a Leer topper to protect the dogs/kennels. An old feather blanket works great.

Re: Turkey - Spokane
They have spread out quite a bit in the past week with the warm weather. Toms are walking solo in the late mornings. Good luck.

Re: Synthetic, performance upland pants?
I have been hunting in all weather. If it's a weekend, I'm not working nor family commitments, I am out hunting birds til the season ends. I have been pondering this question for some time. I have to take into account my environment. Pheasant is usually plowed fields which I hunt the creek bottoms. ...

Re: I relocated......now what?? Idaho and surrounding upland!!
I have had great success in Northern ID for all species of birds. Always get at least a shot off in a few hours of hunting. Eastern WA has some very good hunting. Pheasant this year is better than prior 10 yrs so I have been told and this is definitely better than the past 2 years. Mixed bags of hun...

I highly recommend these ECS. Although I am biased on the GSP litters. Seen/met the dogs and have a great temperment.

My GSPs are indoors all the time in Winter. Leave them out during the spring/summer/fall once the weather gets above 60 degrees. Currently 6 degrees in Idaho.

Re: Housebreaking, I am starting to loose it.
I have had a problem with my GSPs. My male had an issue with immature bladder. He would piddle few drops several times per day. He was even sitting on my lap and had leaked. Despite how many times I took him outside. I never realized how bad it was until just before I moved out of my apartment into ...

Re: Getting GSP to sit still and retrieve only when released
I have a similar problem with my GSP during duck season, I had great difficulty getting him to stay still although he was only one year old. I finally left him off the leash for the 3/4 mile hike to the river, let him burn some energy at the beginning greatly decreased his errors from over-excitement.

Re: training with snakes
I hunted in Arizona for several years with my first GSP and had to deal with rattlesnakes/barbed wire and cholla cactus. I had my dog snake broke at about 10 months old. He never went near a snake after that unless I killed it first. We ran into about 6 snakes after that because early quail and trai...

Re: Dog Whines while swimming
I have a German Shorthair that whines/barks on retrieves for ducks only. I think he is just excited to get the bird and can't move fast enough in the water. He was only one year old during the last season. Never a problem with quail/pheasant while training or hunting. I figure he will either grow ou...

Re: Ft Benning
I train my dog on Ft Benning and occasionally hear wild birds in the periphery of the dove fields that I train. Because of lack of options, I started hunting wood ducks and will try Teal this season. Seen some teal when scouting last month. If you are still around, PM me for training/hunting.
