Re: Importing

i guess I should chime in a bit here, I've imported 7 DK's over the years and can shed some light on the process and European take to importing- the following may be of use: The DK registry is quite substatiated in notes and test histories that are readily available as historic information about con...

Re: How do you store dog food?

I store my food at home the same as how I transport it on the road....white food grade 5 gallon buckets from home depot, put the lid on them and the food is safe from rodents, bugs and everything else...it does stay fresher as well (not much air seal with opened bags). Buckets are labeled "Dog food ...

You can also tell the sex of the birds by their toes...hold the toes together and you will see the males uneven and the females shorter and even.

Re: Which E collar to buy?

I would have no problem with a refurbished collar. I guess the question becomes . How reliable is a refurbished collar? From my understanding they come with the same warranty as a new one. I've had mine sent in and re-done a couple times and have never had any issues...but I'd guess there would a f...

Thanks Jake..... I'm just throwing it out there hoping to be of some benefit along the way. Every one of us has fallen into the "wildcard" preference catagory at one time or another in our lives....and more often than not, a bunch of times. One of the positives of getting older is that we all eventu...

Thanks guys for all the insight and answers, I was aware of the DNA tracking to confirm rights to "Llew-dom" in registry and how they had always been separated as a "different" setter altogether and I also had read the article and alot of others on the subject...I love to know histories of things es...

I have always been a tritronics guy....so I can't speak much to other brands...as I've always stood on the "if it's not broke don't fix it" scenario....of course being a dinosaur to this crazy dog world, I still own many "seasoned" models- Pro 100 2 dog, Pro 500 2 dog, and and Upland special 2 dog.....

Anybody know what happened with King and a couple other llewellin guys that caused them to lose FDSB registration?....you can see they bred a ton of generations of dogs in almost all of the FDSB pedigrees out there but then all of a sudden they switched over to the "other" registration that Cotton s...

Re: Shorthairs, since we're on the topic of color...

Huge topic that's been literally worn out....but that being said there a few key points to remember: The shorthair or DK was a culmination of many "inputs" from various breeds to create a "purebred" line of new dog breed called the DK (shorthair)-this was in the 1800's for God's sake....later they w...

Great topic !! Lot's of good answers here and it's a hoot to see what different folks like, it seems to me a gun is somewhat an extension of the owner and has a connection to them, whether that is a family passed on treasure, a special feel or fit, the first gun you shot, or the one you always dream...
