Ray I would have to disagree on that I don't have time to break a dog but I have the time to keep him broke. The nearest Bird field from me is 40 minutes I work 12 hours a day 5 days a week. I can work around the house but no Bird work so I chose to go with a pro to break him and I will work him 3 o...

Ok an accident is an accident they were honest about it take the stud fee. I've been in dogs a long time and 1000 dollar stud fee for an unproven male is unheard of. Training With Mo its a well written training guide. Mo is on here willing to help and Jonesy lives in Ky so you would be able get help if needed. It is also easy to follow

Another is Delmar Smith book it is also well written and easy to follow. This book is a little harder to find but it worth find.

Re: Anyone field trial beagles or have experience?

I have ran in and judged beagle trials. The gallery is on foot and can follow the race as long as they stay behind the field marshal. The judges are in charge but the marshal is there to keep order in the field. The last thing you want as a judge or handler is for the gallery to stop on a rabbit tra...

I like German Shorthaired Pointers with that said it hard to beat a good Pointer most will have more range than your comfertable with. My suggestion is to get a good program and follow it. I like Training With Mo it is a good program for softer dogs. If you call a safety and then the bird clears and you shoot dose the reterive still count.
