Re: Dog respecting your home
Jeffkoop, yes croix is free in house from 6 till 4. Not a problem yet. Long as dog gets enough exercise and comes from a reputatable breeder, that breeds for good temp and socially involves pups. Shouldn't be a problem, as long as you're the boss!!!

Re: Dog respecting your home
A dog can stay cooped up 10 hours a say as long as there is time spent running him/her every other day Plenty of attention should be given to the dog on all days. Otherwise they look for attention. My dog hasn't ever chewed anything up or had an accident during the day And i work 10 hour days. Must ...

Just looked up blasto, wow , I sure hope that's not it. I do live on the Mississippi and this area is considered a hotspot. His stamina/energy has decreased but did improve after antibiotics. Probably should bring him in ASAP, any other thoughts.

Thanks Dog Dr,
In your opinion, should I wait and see if gets better/worse? Or is another trip to the vet in order. He did have the kennel cough vaccine at 4 months old or so. Thanks in advance.

What's your best definition/description for "style in setters".
I always hear about this dog or that dog has style. Or is stylish. I have a one year old Setter that seems stylish to Me, but I'm an easily impressed newbie.
Thanks in advance for your imput.

Symptoms sound the same as what my pup went through. I know you said the tests came back negative, but it sure sounds like, anaplasmosis. Which is one of the 4 things the vet tested your dog for.

Re: Pigeons?
If your new birds, are young birds that haven't been flown before you getting them. The best situation is young birds that haven't even looked outside at their previous loft. In this case, 2 weeks. If you have older birds that have been flown before, may be 2 to 3 months. Best situation is to have p...
Re: Pigeons?
Not saying they won't work, ferals that is.
But would you take a stray dog off the street and let in kennel with your dogs? Then let it breed with your dog?? The pups may work out??
Start with quality, end with quality.

Re: Pigeons?
My 2 cents, Start with a proven line of homers. Lots of people claim they have homers for sale. Stay away from feral pigeons, usually bring disease/parasites into loft. In no time you will have plenty of good birds. Given you provide clean water, quality pigeon food and a clean, draft free loft. IMO...
