Re: Tri-Tronics Sport Basic vs Sport Upland question
The sport basic does not control the beeper at distance. You can run the beeper with it, but will not be able to turn it on and off. IIRC, you can only turn the beeper on and off within 3" of the receiver. That said, do you need a beeper? I personally find them annoying.

Re: farm land trust
If it's a normal trust just talk to the trustee. He holds legal title and would be able to sell the land if the trust instrument allows. If it's a conservation trust you're probably SOL.

Re: Concealed carry
No course needed in VA since you are in the military. It's as easy as filling out a form and dropping it off at the local courthouse.

Re: some fun days guiding at Rasawek preserve in VA
I just went to Rasawek this past weekend (with Phoenix guiding) and I can say that it was unbelievable. My dog, who has never backed, managed to honor the other dog's points. Afterwards, they cleaned the birds for us and made us a phenomenal meal. Hands down my best hunting experience yet. I highly ...

Re: bark collar
I personally like the SportDog bark collar. I used the tri-tronics first, but it went off a lot when my dog wasn't barking. The SportDog has a vibration and a sound sensor, and only shocks the dog when both are tripped. That way it doesn't shock the dog if it whines or growls.

New to Virginia
I just moved to Charlottesville, VA and was looking for some recommendations where to hunt. I have a Vizsla and a 12 gauge, I just need to know where to drive!
