Re: Unregisterd GunDogs
I agree that papers don't make dogs. I have a 6 month old GSP with out papers. He is full blooded and beautiful. I didn't realize at the time of purchase that the pup's hunting abilities sometimes rely heavily on it 's parents abilities and plus i was wanting one so bad I couldn't resist him. I have...

I'm sure I'll pick up some new treats and probably whatever else catches my eye between now and Christmas. How could you not get some things for your best friend for C...

Bringing my GSP indoors?
I have a 6 month old GSP. I have housed him in my basement thus far into his life but I would really love to bring him upstairs with me now. I did not house train him when he was younger and now that he is roughly 50 pounds, if he has an accident in the house I will need a mop instead of a rag to cl...

Re: using grouse scent to train?
What if he gets to running deer though? I have heard that the natural instinct of a bird dog is to only find birds but I heard the same thing about rabbit dogs too. This is my first Bird Dog. I had Beagles all my life and it was a nightmare trying to get them not to run deer. Is that not a common pr...

using grouse scent to train?
I have a 6 month old GSP and I have no access to pigeons, quail , or any game birds by the beginning of January. I would like to start taking my dog out in January when Deer season ends to get him exposed to some hunting conditions and maybe pick up the scent of some ruffed grouse. I know he is youn...
