Re: Beeper/Hawk Scream
I have talked to some people that claimed if they broke up a covey having a dog with a beeper collar that would hawk scream would really make the covey hold? Has anyone had this experience? I already run an astro so it wouldn't be for location. My hunting is 90% sclaed quail and if anyone has had a...

I like to think that my dog and I have one braincell each. She thinks "Get the Bird." And I follow her around with my mouth wide open, amazed at her abilities. Is there really anything more to it?

Try soaking in Epsom salt and hot water solution, at least once a day. There may be some foreign material still in there, but it can be very hard to find and often you end up causing more damage digging around in there. If he's walking on it I would just be patient for now. Easy for me to say, I kn...

Yeah, I have known a whole lot of pheasants in my life, but not a chance any of them could ever outrun my dog...Not in the first 12 years of this dog's life, at least.

You won't find another brand that will last as long as a Deere. Do, however, ask your John Deere dealer why you should buy it from him rather than Lowes. I've had numerous co-workers, with less grass to mow than I have, that have all gone through two, if not three other brand mowers in the same time...

Re: Hunting the Dakotas w/a pointing dog
Been going to ND since '94 and there is not better place to make a bird dog out of a bird dog. First off...and JMHO...decide to go for the dog and not worry how many birds you kill. If it were me, i would avoid the sloughs and shelter belts and get your dog out in the CRP (what's left of it!!) and ...

Just because you may see more flushers than pointers, does not mean that they are more successful than the pointers... I have lived and hunted for many decades in Eastern Montana and Western ND....And have never wished that I had a flusher rather than a pointer while hunting any birds...Please don't...

I have never found a reason to buy a gun not made in The USA. To me, they are the best bang for the buck.
And I'm in agreement with big fish...I would take the dog without the gun long before I would take the gun without the dog!

If you keep your dog dry after he or she is done running, he or she will have "The Time" of their life! I don't know any dogs that would prefer it any other way...Nor do I...Snow keeps the Fair Weather hunters away, while their dogs wait........
